6 Important Steps to Buying a Home in Long Island
Make the Home Buying Process Much Easier on Youself By Knowing the Process
1. PLANNING-
Planning is the first and one of the most important steps in the home buying process. It makes the process much easier and more understandable to the buyer. Before finding a realtor you should make sure to ask yourself, “Why do I want buy?”. Defining what it is that you want and if you can afford it is critical in your decision to leap forward to the next step and find a realtor.
2. FINDING THE RIGHT REALTOR-
It is very important to find a realtor that is right for you. Some might ask the question: “Why do I need a realtor?”. Here is a simple solution to this question. Whether Buying or Selling Real Estate it is a very competitive and complicated market. The process of buying a home becomes very extensive with the paperwork, pricing, negotiating, financing, lawyers, and so on. In order to make sure that you are purchasing the right home for you at the best price it is imperative to find a professional who knows the business. When going on that search for a compatible realtor make sure to take into account experience, demeanor, appearance, and licensing.
3. GET PREAPPROVAL-
Before looking at homes with a realtor it is important to know what price range you will be looking in. This is an important step for two very important reasons: first it will show your realtor how much you can borrow so that you can find the home that is right for you within your price range and second when you find a home having a pre-approval letter gives the seller confidence in accepting your offer knowing that financing can be obtained to meet that offer.
4. A JOURNEY TO FINDING THE RIGHT HOME-
During this process you will look at many different homes with your realtor to figure out what is right for you. A realtor can research and find homes that fit your guidelines and then take you on a tour to see each of them. Each and every home is unique. By looking at these homes you will eventually find one that has all of the characteristics in which you are looking for in your price range. Finding the right Home is a HUGE decision. A home is not only a shelter, but rather a place to live your life. It is a place where you will spend much of your time relaxing, entertaining friends and family, raising children, and so much more!
5. THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS-
After finding the perfect home you and your realtor must come up with a practical price that you can afford and justifies what the house is worth. This offer is then presented by your realtor to the owner and the owner’s representative. Then they will make a decision on whether or not to accept your offer. During this time you will also have many inspections done on the home to assure the homes mechanics and structure. If the offer is accepted you will move on to set a date for the closing and if the offer is not accepted a negotiation on price will go on between you, your realtor, the seller, and the sellers’ representative.
6. CLOSING ON THE HOME-
A closing is when all of the parties involved get together to finalize the sale of the home. At the closing all of the paperwork is completed and any closing costs or legal fees are paid. The final result of the closing is that the title for the property is transferred from the seller to the buyer.
